Brussels gay pride 2011

Brussels Gay pride was on a couple of weeks ago, which always makes for fun photography.

Not a one trick pony.

A change from the wedding photography, with a European Commission internal publicity event to launch a new building. There were some pretty high profile people there, including the EU commissioner for transport Siim Kallas. So a little nerve racking knowing that I had only one chance to capture the cutting of the ribbon, however the rest of the event was pretty much similar to wedding photography, capture people having fun!

Maidenhead wedding

A great wedding recently in Maidenhead back in the UK. To  a French and English couple, needless to say jokes where in flow from the English side about the recent 6 nations rugby win. The location was a wonderful old barn, which had been decorated painstakingly by the bridge and groom, although the groom was adamant that he had done all the work. Some small teasers while I continue to work on the rest of the pictures.

New Zealand wedding

It’s official I am now a truly global wedding photographer, In March I travelled to New Zealand to see some good friends get married. Knowing that they had a semi decent photographer in the guest list, and that I am also willing to take pictures they asked me to be both a guest and the official photographer. So my partner and I jumped on the long flight to New Zeland and spent a great 4 weeks travelling around the country as well as stopping off in Gisborne to shoot James’s and Sarah’s wedding.

The service was held at the Knapdale ECO lodge which was the ideal outdoor setting for this wonderfully relaxed wedding.

Darren and Emma’s wedding

A late August wedding in close to Lincoln, Lincolnshire UK. Darren was as an old friend from my RAF days. It was nice to meet up after not seeing each other for nearly 15 years! Here are some of my favourite shots from the day.

London street photography

Was in London the other weekend with my daughter, who is now used to having a camera shoved in her face all the time. But also got a new 24mm lens which I’m starting to love as much as my 50mm!

James and Sarah

A shoot at a studio location for James and Sarah, who are good friends and who have given me the honour to shot their wedding in March 2011. Which is going to be in New Zealand! I can then promote myself as an international wedding photographer :-)

Anyway a small shoot for their engagement, I try not to do set poses and like couples to interact in front of the camera, hopefully we managed to get some natural shots from our hour-long session.

Hallerbos Bluebells

After a long hiatus due to rupturing my Achilles tendon I’m now back in action. So took the chance to go to to the wonderful Hallerbos forest. This is easily one of the best locations that I know for bluebells, and in fact the location is often the envy of fellow photographers in the UK.

Return to Dominic

Oh dear there already goes the New Years resolution to update the blog more, although in my defence I’ve a good excuse after rupturing my Achilles tendon. But a small update with some new pictures of Dominic taken using the portable stuido set up.

Dominic

I was lucky to be invited into a wonderful home to photograph Dominic recenty. A very happy and contented soul, who liked pressing the buttons on the back on my camera more than striking a pose for the camera! But I hope we managed to get some good shots.
